Honeysuckle Beach Opens Late

Honeysuckle Beach Opens Late

Eventhough we're all itching to get into our swimsuits and hit the beach, you're going to have to wait a little longer on Hayden Lake. The City has moved back opening day for Honeysuckle Beach to June 18th. It says the water level is just too high and the temperature is just too cold to open up any earlier. Starting June 18th, lifeguards will staff the beach from 11 in the morning to 6 at night.

If you're a boater, you can expect to pay a fee to launch at Honeysuckle.

Are you racing to find your dad a Father's Day gift?  How about speed?  The Competitive Edge Racing School at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls is offering 10 laps around the track in a real race car for $99.  Drivers get a 20 minute course on driving and right-foot-braking before getting behind the wheel.  Owner and lead instructor Randy Koch says it's a once in a lifetime experience for some dads.  "Last year we had a five and six year or boy and girl standing along the fence and every time dad would go by they would do the wave, " Koch said.

Route of the Hiawatha Opens Saturday!

Pump up the bike tires and grab your helmet - one of the Inland Northwest's favorite trail rides, the Route of the Hiawatha, opens Saturday!

Crews from Lookout Pass, which operates the trail, have been clearing the snow from the trailhead's highest peak to get ready for this weekend.

What It Takes To Race Across America on a Bicycle

What It Takes To Race Across America on a Bicycle

As preparation for racing across America in June looms for Team Laughing Dog from Sandpoint Idaho they have long planned to do a 36 to 48 hour race simulation with full crew and all the vehicles needed to get across the country. Everyone on the crew, with the exception of one person, is a Race Across America rookie so getting some practice seems essential to making the actual race fun and safe.

So on Friday, April 29th, they packed up and went on a 27 hour 450 mile bike ride.
