There's a special place in my heart for pick-up trucks. This one in particular is definitely pulling at those strings. It's a 1968 International painted fire truck yellow. Currently it belongs to Spirit Lake Fire Department, but come July 4th, it could be yours.
"We've had it since the late 1970s. It was a front-line truck for a few years. It only has 96,000 miles on it. For some time it was used as a wild land brush fire truck," Fire Chief, John Debernardi said.
It's being given away through a 5 dollar raffle. Only 2,000 raffle tickets are available for the opportunity. All proceeds from the raffle will be used to outfit and purchase a new brush truck for the District.
Debernardi continued, "It's available to be viewed at the fire station [32182 N. 6th Ave]. It's outside with the banner. You can't miss it."
For questions regarding the vehicle you can call (208) 623-5800. For raffle tickets, just find the nearest Spirit Lake fire personnel. The winner will be announced on during the Fourth of July celebration at 4 p.m. in the Big Park.
