CdA burger joint to give away bag of cash at month's end | Restaurants
Scrud's Gourmet Grub wants to thank its customers for all of their word-of-mouth advertising.
The 4th Street burger joint – just north of McEuen Field – will be giving out a bag of money to one lucky customer at the end of February.
“Our customers are awesome,” Scrud's owner Brett Lyman said. “Our customers are really good about getting the word out for me, so I figured I'd give a little back.”
You can enter to win the bag, which contains between $100 and $500, by liking the restaurant's Facebook page and by sharing one of the three “free money” photos - like the one above - to be eligible. Also, every burger you eat at the restaurant raises your chances of being picked.
“The contest is open to anyone,” Lyman said. “I've got people from overseas entering.”
Scrud's is famous for its unique take on burgers. The restaurant comes out with a new unique burger every week, has several challenges that you can complete to earn a place on its Wall of Fame, and has been the shooting site for several amateur food photgraphers.
“I don't encourage them to do it,” Lyman said. “They just do.”
Lyman prides himself on being the only restaurant owner in the area who offers stuffed burgers, and is looking forward to continuing to do whatever to please his patrons.
“We're surviving by treating our customers right and making the food right,” he said.
By looking at the restaurant's Facebook page, it's clear that the customers appreciate Lyman's efforts as well.
"(Scrud's) puts Hudson's to shame," one user wrote.
Now that's advertising that shouldn't come for free.
