A Royal Sendoff

A Royal Sendoff

It was a royal send off for kids at the Post Falls Library this morning.

The library hosts a weekly play group for children ages 5 and under. Today they celebrated their last meeting before breaking for the summer months. Kids dressed up as kings and queens, princes and princesses to make their last gathering one of royal caliber.

Karen Harker started taking her two year old son, Shepherd, to the group a few weeks ago. Keeping with the theme, Shepherd went by King of Kootenai County today.

Harker says it's great to come together with other moms that have kids the same age. There is play time, a story reading, group songs and crafts. Harker wishes she knew about the group sooner.

Those who frequent Q'emiln Park should swim there now before it's too late. Labor Day, Sept. 3, will be the last day Q'emiln Park has lifeguards on duty.

However the beach swimming area will remain open after Labor Day until the dam at the park is opened by Avista. Water levels will determine when the dam is reopened.

The city of Post Falls urges parents to be aware that although the beach will remain open, they should be with their children if they decide to go swimming at the park past Labor Day.
