On Saturday, October 1 at the Greyhound Park in Post Falls, Idaho there will be a charity fund raiser benefitting The Rypien Foundation and The Inland Northwest Honor Flight. There will be live music from "The Polkatones" and "The Kelly Hughes Band."

For $50 a person, you get an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet, a commemorative beer stein and five drink tokens. This is a fun event and if you come dressed in a German costume you'll be eligible for some great prizes. Come on over and have some fun while at the same time benefitting two great organizations. The American Cancer Society Bark For Life

Bark For Life is really not about dogs.  It's an event that the American Cancer Society can raise funds and awareness of their continual fight against cancer.  It's an event happening Saturday, August 20 beginning at 10am and running until 2pm.  Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk where you and your canine friend will have a fun-filled day with a walk, demonstrations, contests and games.  The event takes place at the Life Care Center, 2800 E.

The Kootenai County Fairgrounds will host an unusual event this Saturday.  Muddy Miles 2011 is a fun run and obstacle course with a little mud thrown in as well.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dirne Community Health Center.

Route of the Hiawatha Opens Saturday!

Pump up the bike tires and grab your helmet - one of the Inland Northwest's favorite trail rides, the Route of the Hiawatha, opens Saturday!

The June 11th opening actually marks a delay in the trail's typical season. The route usually opens from May to September, but the cool spring and heavy snowfall delayed the opening. Crews from Lookout Pass, which operates the trail, have been clearing the snow from the trailhead's highest peak to get ready for this weekend.
