Roller derby season returns this weekend | Events

The Snake Pit Derby Dames are ready to roll out their 2013 season.

The roller derby team, of Coeur d'Alene, announced its first “home bout” against the East Kootenay Roller Derby League will be Sunday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Skate Plaza Roller Rink at 5685 N. Pioneer Dr.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door and children under 10 are admitted free of charge.

“SPDD is committed to helping out local charities all season long,” a news release from the team read. “Bring a non-food item (toothbrush, tooth paste, diapers, napkins deodorant, etc) and get $1 off your ticket price.”

The game on Sunday will benefit Fresh Start in Coeur d'Alene.
