Tips help Coeur d'Alene Police solve late July arson

Coeur d’Alene Police Detectives and the Coeur d’Alene Fire Marshall got a tip that helped them finally solve a late July residential arson.

The fire happened on July 29th 2012 around 7:30pm in the 1600 block of Nettleton Gulch Rd at a two story town-home that was still under construction.

Witnesses reported seeing two boys fleeing the home just prior to the fire starting.

Detectives were able to gather enough information to lead them to the two boys. Both were interviewed and confessed to their role in the arson.

A request for felony charges has been sent to the Prosecutors Office for both suspects.

The arson caused significant damage to the structure as well as damage to surrounding structures and vehicles. The home was able to be repaired after the arson.
